| Fertility Nurse Specialists/ Clinical Manager Regionally and nationally known program for its commitment to providing high quality, family-centered patient care, seeks experienced clinical staff additions for our Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Clinic in Montreal to perform the duties as described below: We are currently seeking several Fertility Nurse Specialists to work in our highly collaborative and leading edge environment. Due to our commitment to shared governance and shared decision-making, the Fertility Nurse Specialist is accountable for managing the overall care of Assisted Reproduction Technology (ART) patients. • Coordinating and providing multi-faceted professional nursing care to patients. • Providing patient education and consultation to explain and define complicated medical treatments and procedures. • Composing multiple patient information and education packets. • Managing the care of Artificial Insemination (AI) and In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)/Gamete Intra Fallopian Transfer (GIFT) patients. • Monitoring and tracking the patient through treatment to ensure quality care is administered and to respond to patient issues and/or concerns. • Developing and maintaining a partnership with the patient and family to facilitate and/or navigate through subsequent treatment and follow-up. • Providing emotional support to patients and family members throughout course of treatment. • Collaborating with outside physicians and facilities to coordinate care for shared patients. • Performing follow-up consultations with patient/couple to discuss treatment options as recommended by physician. • Performing physician-approved procedures (i.e. intrauterine inseminations). • Performing ultrasound evaluations of follicular growth, monitoring estradiol levels, and monitoring and/or changes medication protocols as directed by physician. • Assisting with collection of specimens. Receiving and maintaining laboratory, radiology, and other test results. • Communicating results to physicians and patients. • Assessing patient, family, and/or significant others educational needs and providing teaching/counseling. • Providing patient education regarding procedures, surgery, ART, and/or any questions with regard to patient care. • Presenting Infertility and Reproductive Endocrinology topics to community and facilitating support groups. • Coordinating, and assisting physicians with, office procedures, patient education, and follow-up visits. | |
